Air: The nearest airport is at Gaya 7 Kms and Patna 135 kms. Indian Airlines and Sahara Airlines connect Patna to Calcutta, Bombay, Delhi, Ranchi, Lucknow and various other cities.

When is the best time to visit Bodhgaya


Bodh Gaya climatic conditions are fairly extreme.
Summers (March to May) have maximum temperature in the range of 45 °C to 47 °C and minimum is about 27 °C.
Monsoons (June to August) offer plenty of rain and are humid making the environment sultry. Still rains make the climate pleasant.
Winters are very pleasant during December to February with temperature ranging between 28°C to 4°C.

October to March is pleasant and suitable for visiting the attractions in the holy town.

Places of interest around Bodhgaya :
The Barabar and Nagarjuni hills are situated 41 kms from Bodhgaya. these historical hills contain seven rock-cut caves, 4 of which are in the Barabar hills. These caves which bear details of the life of Buddha were carved out from solid rocks.
Rajgir is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site since Buddha spent 12 years here, and the first Buddhist council after Buddha attained Nirvana was held here.
